A simple solution to set up our msds database

I needed to set up an msds database for my safety data sheets to use for the employee’s safety program at my place of business. So did a quick search to see what I might be up against and I began filtering through the search results, of which, I assure you, there were tens of thousands of.  I wanted to set up the database locally on my hard drive, and use it to implement my hazard communication program and employee training regarding hazard communications.
I found all kinds of paid services that offer access to these very large databases. I also found several companies that would set up the database for me and charged a monthly fee to keep it up to date. And I did find some software that I could buy to help me organize the material safety data sheets on my computer. Although none of it seemed quite right for me.
Setting up this msds database is after all part of my job. So I didn’t feel right going to ask my employer to pay for a service to do my job for me, or even buying software for something as simple as organizing a small collection of PDF files on my hard drive.
I just thought there must be a better way, and I’m glad I didn’t give up looking, because I did find a free online msds service that has really great online software to build my database with.
When I was thinking about uploading all those records to my hard drive, I thought it was a great Idea, but after seeing what this webpage can do I thought different.
Now that my msds database is complete, and is online, all of my companies’ employees, vendors, shipping agents and customers can share the same safety data sheets. I just give them all a link to my personal database and they can view, print or download any msds sheets in my collection.
Talk about easy deployment!  Emailing the individual records is a breeze; just click the email symbol on each records page and up pops your email with the safety data sheet already attached. You only have to enter the email recipients’ address and send it off.

Adding the records to my database was also easy. A lot of the most common material safetydata sheets I needed were already there and I only had to click the link to add any safety data sheet to my online msds binder. Then I was able to upload some of the other ones I needed to complete my inventory list.
I still had to find a few data sheets online and there was an article to help me find them quickly, and the totally awesome search engine on this page is exactly that, it’s totally awesome!
Uploading the msds sheets was also really easy to do. I watched the video that was available and in just a few minutes I was uploading the rest of my material safety data sheets. The whole process took me a few hours, and I have to tell you I couldn’t believe this thing was free.

If you need to set up an msds database you really have to check this out, get over there right now and set up your free user account, the webpage is MsdsDigital.com.
